About Marcelo Soto Thompson

Started out as atomic physicist specialized in light-tissue interaction especially for the detection of cancer. As an optical systems expert designed, evaluated and analyzed data from various optical systems (imaging, scanning, point monitoring etc) mostly for medical purposes but also for environmental monitoring. Had numerous experiences in bringing prototype devices into clinical settings (imaging colposcopes, PDT-treatment equipment) as well as developing a commercial device that received FDA approval in February of 2008 and CE approval in December of 2008.Later on, I have been developed various types of optical measurement techniques for characterization of (mostly) non-standard properties of importance for Flatfrog's InGlass™ technology. Specialties: - Medical Device Development (Prototype and Commercial)- Optical Systems (Imaging, non-imaging, illumination, spectral analysis, image processing)- Tissue Optics and Simulation
