Owner/director of an independent consultancy specialising in the areas of strategy, organisational and leadership development. This reflects over 30 years’ experience as a business leader, consultant and academic, providing value in a diverse range of cultural, industry and organisational settings; working with senior management and boards to develop strategies that are ambitious, and implementation plans that are practical. After graduating, Martin initially worked in the motor manufacturing sector, eventually within a management development function. In 1983 he moved to the National Freight Consortium, helping to set up Newsflow, a new division leading a fresh approach to newspaper and magazine distribution. Martin worked for 5 years as part of the executive board of a European business information company before joining Cranfield University School of Management in 1993.Martin gained his doctorate from Cranfield in 2007 and for 10 years worked as Programme and Business Director of the Cranfield Centre for General Management Development. This internationally acclaimed portfolio of open enrolment leadership development programmes combines breadth of managerial knowledge with depth of personal insight.
