About Matt Gordon

“You cannot fix what you cannot measure.” - MeSenior Manager at Toyota Research Institute in the Energy and Materials Division, where my group studies AI knowledge management and data-driven kaizen in battery manufacturing. I also advise Toyota on meeting their climate goals, as well as advising Toyota Ventures Climate Fund on emerging climate technologies.I am the founder and Executive Director of Climate Tech Action Network, a non-profit to help channel engineering talent into high impact climate tech efforts.I received my doctoral degree in physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a dissertation on single molecule imaging and genetic sequencing technologies. After postdoctoral work at Stanford in optical trapping, I worked for six years at Palantir Technologies, helping international NGOs, Fortune 500 companies, and the US Department of Justice to solve data-driven problems. I helped create the prototype of what is now one of Palantir’s flagship products.
