I introduce myself as a Molecular Microbiologist with experience in both academia and research. With reference to teaching, as a guest faculty at Centre for Converging Technologies (CCT), University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, I have taught Molecular Microbiology, Laboratory Safety and Societal Issues related to Biotechnology to both B.Tech and M.Tech students. I designed and took Molecular Biology practical classes where experiments ranged from microbial growth studies to PCR techniques. Being a part of the department’s research division, in a short duration of 10 months, I have acted as a mentor for seven different research projects where I have worked as a team leader for three and project leader for one. Furthermore, my work comprised management of the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) which included responsibilities ranging from procurement of chemicals & laboratory consumables to maintenance of instruments. I have also held the responsibility of Sports Manager of the institute managing Cricket, Football, Badminton, Athletics and Badminton teams. At present I work as a Scientific Officer in ‘Department of Advanced Molecular Microbiology’ (DAMM) at Seminal Applied Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur. Research in my laboratory, with collaborative groups, aims to determine and compare the gene expression pattern of a wide range of microbial strains isolated from different sources. Using genomic tools we are working to find out niche related changes and identification of source specific genetic markers. At present my team is working on isolation and characterization of enterocin from different Enterococcus species to see the effect against Campylobacter species.
Listed skills include Pcr, Pcr Primer Design, Microbial Genetics, Molecular Microbiology, and 23 others.
