I apply cutting-edge epidemiologic methods to generate evidence-based knowledge on the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on fertility, pregnancy, and child health outcomes. I investigate paternal and maternal exposure to phthalates, phenols, and other emerging chemicals and their mixtures on ovarian reserve, time to pregnancy, pregnancy loss, preterm birth, birth weight, placental parameters, and child development outcomes. My ultimate goal is to use this evidence to inform clinical practice and improve public health.

My research interests lie broadly in understanding the reproductive effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals. I am specifically examining the role of phthalates, bisphenol A, and other emerging chemicals and their mixtures, on ovarian reserve, time to pregnancy, spontaneous abortion, preterm birth, and other adverse pregnancy outcomes.

My doctoral research interests emphasized reproductive epidemiology, infertility, assisted reproduction, and causal methods with perinatal application.

Developed grant proposals, research protocols, and data collection instruments, and coordinated large, school-based research studies on adolescent high-risk behaviors.

Early Childhood Development Project - EgyptWorked in collaboration with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the World Bank team in developing a nationwide early childhood education enhancement program in Egypt. Specifically responsible for the health and nutrition input to build safe and healthy classrooms and schools for children under 5.

Provided consultation and training throughout Ontario to support and assist public health managers, community agencies and health professionals in the development and implementation of public health strategies for maternal-child health.

Developed and implemented city-wide prevention programs and a social-marketing campaign on alcohol use during pregnancy. Obtained federal funding from the National Crime Prevention Program for the prevention of fetal-alcohol syndrome.
