I am an accomplished biomedical professional with over 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years in leadership roles. As an Associate Professor, I led an independent research laboratory for 12 years and currently serve as the Director of Cell Therapy at AstraZeneca. Notable achievements and demonstration of top-tier competitive skillsets include overseeing approximately $10 million in energy industry projects, development of the “Quantum Flex” bioreactor for clinical cell manufacture, being Principal Investigator (PI) on >20 competitively funded biomedical research projects, and development of protocols to produce allogeneic CAR T and CAR T regulatory cells. Additional outputs include 85+ publications, 4 PCT patents, invention of the Microwell-mesh organoid culture platform, training/management of 40 staff/students, and instruction of nearly 1,000 undergraduate students. I have senior author publications on the topics of stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, prostate cancer, and AAV gene therapy, and research culture. I have held senior leadership positions, such as Lead of the Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering Program and the Higher Degree Research Student Program at QUT. I am creative, excel at problem-solving, project management, and communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
