I am a poet, a writer, a graphic artist, and most formally, a California board-certified doctor of acupuncture. I bring a fresh, creative, and inspired energy to medical science and the practice of integrative medicine. I love what I do because it is a source of never-ending research, education, communication, inspiration, discovery, and fulfillment of my love of working with others towards our collective well-being and self-understanding. For me, Traditional Chinese Medicine is an indigenous wisdom source that contains a simple, empirical, and profound understanding of the human body which survives the modern biomedical explanations and discoveries of biology and physiology. Acupuncture is an elegant tool for interfacing with the body, primarily through the nervous system and it is my passion to utilize and explain this specialty until everyone understands its value and potential in medicine. I am the bridge between ancient insight and modern science.My practice and talents as an acupuncturist are enhanced by my studies in biochemistry, fermentation science, Chinese philosophy, and the ongoing research into the physiology of acupuncture. I combine my medical expertise, my 10 years of clinical experience, and my passion for communications (both written and visual) with a cultivated view of the world that keeps me open to knew ways of approaching common and recurring problems in medicine. I In addition to being a medical practitioner, I am also a father, a visual artist, a poet, a cook, an educator, and an alchemist/home-brewer. I put my passion for being skillful and present to all my creativity and bring insight from each area of interest to enhance my work.I am a creative wizard, using technical know-how and creative depth to extract relevant imagery, ideas, and emotions from memetic space to bring clarity to those who experience my work. I communicate with the world through a gentle, collaborative directness and simplicity of form and idea. I am a visionary that seeks the forming limits of living culture through creative expressions, craft, and medicine.
