Well, Hello! I am an exhilarating professional educator with more than 25 years of experience. With over 10,000 hours of teaching/tutoring in one-on-one and group sessions, I have enthusiastically challenged elementary, middle, and high school students attending 25 Baltimore City/County schools to overwhelmingly achieve academic excellence, with record results using multi-sensory instruction and quantifiable results. I have multiple earned degrees; most currently, an M.Ed. degree, B.S. in Information Systems, and an M.S. in Technology Management. In addition to working with underserved students, I acclimate well and empathetically aid and help students with specific learning disabilities like Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Executive Disorder, and Asperger syndrome.I collaborate, support, and advocate with organizations that promote reading literacy, like EdWeek.org, the International Dyslexia Association, the Dyslexia Tutoring Program, the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, The saddest casualties of illiteracy in America are the children affected by intergenerational illiteracy. Children of disadvantaged parents begin their school life behind their peers. Parents with minimal or no reading skills often cannot provide the support their children need to do well in school. Analysis has shown a direct correlation between young people's test scores and the grade level attained by their parents.I am on LinkedIn to connect with opportunities and network with professionals in literacy advocacy, improving, and enriching the academic quality of life.My mantra is: "I live to give; I give to live!"Giving is a GIFT!
