My interdisciplinary research explores the environmental, social and economic opportunities and challenges emerging technologies including Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Fabrication pose for achieving sustainability goals like the Circular Economy and Net Zero.Cutting across Design and Computing, my research applies and advances approaches including Research through Design, Speculative Design, Co-Design and More-than-Human Design to develop innovative tools and strategies in collaboration with industry, policymakers and publics which support the adoption of more sustainable and equitable technologies, practices and infrastructures across society.My funded research projects include EPSRC InterNET ZERO, AHRC Generation Fix, EPSRC Fixing the Future, EPSRC-ESRC Repair Shop 2049 and EPSRC Edge of Reality.I am Lancaster University's School of Design's Admissions Tutor, a Fellow of the AdvanceHE Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Curriculum Education Development Academy (CEDA) mentor. I am a member of Lancaster University's Impact Accelerator Executive Board, Faculty of Arts & Social Science/Lancaster Management School Research Ethics Committee, and Faculty of Arts & Social Science's Sustainability Knowledge Exchange group.
