Miriam migrated from Hong kong with her family at the age of 7. She completed her schooling and graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland in 1991.Dr. Miriam trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various hospitals in Queensland and her final years of training were completed at Kings Edward Hospital in Perth. It was here she gained skills in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and General Gynaecology.After her fellowship training in 2001, Dr. Miriam continued working at King Edward Hospital as a Visiting Medical Officer and began her private practice.Dr. Miriam Lee returned to the Gold Coast in 2004 and commenced Private Practice in her new Benowa Location at Pindara.It was here Dr. Miriam decided to focus exclusively on Gynaecological and Fertility Services for Women's health on the Gold Coast where she works in conjunction with Monash IVF in all aspects of fertility treatment.Dr. Miriam's special interests include:> Fertility IVF> Vulvo-vaginal disorders> Minimal invasive surgery treatment with endometrial ablation> Vaginal prolapse> Urinary incontinenceIn August 2013, Dr. Miriam established the first cervical screening clinic at Heal Africa Hospital in Goma Congo DRC. There has never been any screening available in the whole of Eastern Congo DRC.By 2015 Dr. Miriam had screened over 600 women. The cervical cancer clinic is now ran by the local Gynaecologist, Dr. Justin Paluku providing care for the people in one of the poorest nations in the world.
