    I won the Pro Vice Chancellor's Interdisciplinary Research Award for instigating a new collaboration between the Faculty of Science and the Musculoskeletal Research Unit at Southmead Hospital in which I synthesised living, biodegradable nanomaterials for bone regeneration. The hierarchically designed nano-scaffolds were analysed using electron microscopy and tested for biocompatibility on mesenchymal cells.
