With over 40 years of diversified experience in the healthcare sector along with a mission of helping those without means, Dr. M. Muinul Hafiz has contributed to the betterment of the people. He is considered an expert otorhinolaryngologist and is a UN enlisted ENT surgeon of global renown.Dr. Hafiz, with assistance from NGOs, has performed complicated surgeries free of charge in rural areas for underprivileged people who cannot afford to visit referral hospitals. For the last 12 years he has worked with hearing health to raise awareness and prevention advice for deafness, noise pollution and ear infection in children in rural areas. As an OPC consultant he regularly hosts an ENT camp in rural areas with a high poverty rate which focuses on helping underprivileged women and children. He is regularly featured on television talk shows to discuss ENT health related problems with the wider public. He regularly attends national and internal conferences, panel discussions and symposiums where he shares his knowledge with a global audience.Dr. Hafiz is the Chairperson of ENT Care Center and Hearing Care Center along with being the Chief Consultant (ENT) at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. He started as an ENT specialist (since 1990) and ENT consultant while working as an associate professor. He has taught at renowned medical institutions including Dhaka Medical College for 22 years.Dr. Hafiz is recognized for his exploration study of “Hearing loss associated with dementia in older men and women” which he completed at Manchester University in the UK. His scientific research paper titled “Pattern of ENT disease in rural areas of Bangladesh” has transformed the way people identify hearing problems in rural communities.
