She completed her schooling at various prestigious institutions in the East Coast including: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The George Washington University, and Harvard Medical School.She has nearly 20 years of direct clinical experience and maintains a private practice in the Back Bay in Boston. Popularly known as Dr. Monica, she specializes in the treatment of multicultural issues, relationship challenges and interpersonal conflicts. When she isn’t at her clinical practice, she teaches as a Lecturer in Harvard’s Medical School and provides psychological and diversity consultation to various media outlets, film and television. Having experienced both sides of television and film production, in front and behind the camera on a national and international platform, Dr. Monica has a unique perspective of the challenges of telling authentic stories of Black people and other people of color. This experience, combined with her strong clinical acumen and understanding of the unconscious process of the psyche and of group dynamics, Dr. Monica offers provocative, insightful consultations around issues of diversity, racial identity/conflict, trauma, and mental health to help transform media projects.
