Create and execute strategies to increase enrollment, retention and graduation of undergraduate and graduate students

Full Professor of Public Management Research is focused on student retention, faculty collaboration, online learning and public education leadership.Service - academic journal reviewer, editor, editor in chief. Member of the Faculty Council Committee and Executive Faculty Council.

-Report to the provost-Shapes and expands graduate level master’s programs by enhancing their standing nationally, increasing enrollment, retention, and graduation rates and decreasing time to graduation, and considering opportunities for new program growth.-Chairs the Committee on Graduate Studies and works closely with program directors and department chairs to ensure the efficient functioning of all graduate programs.- Leadership role in ensuring program assessment and curriculum development, revision and implementation. Together with graduate student administrators. - Leads retention initiatives for graduate students, ensuring the timely implementation, monitoring, reporting and on-going assessment of the plan. -Oversees marketing of the graduate programs and works with the Strategic Enrollment Group on recruitment and enrollment management strategies for the graduate master’s programs. -Manages the budget for the Office of Graduate Studies, and supervises the office’s professional staff. The Dean is a member of the Faculty Personnel Committee and conducts assigned reviews of tenure track faculty. -Facilitates informal resolution of student complaints and processes graduate faculty grievances. Working with the Provost’s Office, the Dean manages the implementation of appointment and compensation changes for graduate faculty, and is the Provost’s liaison with graduate Program Directors.-Oversees the college’s Study Abroad and Student Exchange programs and the Director of Study Abroad/Student Exchanges. With the Director, the Dean works to assure the effective implementation of the Study. Abroad/Student Exchange programs, the safety and professional growth of all students engaged in Study Abroad and Student Exchanges, and works to identify and secure funding to grow this program.

Lecturing in the doctoral program PhD science education and graduate program in higher education administration at the School of Professional Studies and Statistics Methods for the MBA program

• Report to the President of Farmingdale State College/SUNY or his designee (VP Finances)• Direct and responsible for all areas of institutional operations and development including 5 core areas of the institution (Academic Affairs, Business Affairs, Facility Operations, Student Support, R&D), and state and grant fund budget oversight ($5M), and lead and support a team of 35 FTE staff, 6 FTE faculty and 68 PTE faculty• Supervise for the Vice President all institution-wide strategic planning related to academic programs, program accreditation, research studies and grants and grant proposals, affiliations and articulation agreements with off-campus agencies, as well as policy and staff development, establishing long- and short-term goals for the LIEOC consistent with SUNY EOC guidelines • Oversee the “College Connections” program, that helps at risk students to finish their high school diploma and/or prepare for college while working part-time; provide leadership on all K-16 Initiatives supporting low-income and minority students in accessing and succeeding in higher education, including school-college partnership programs; assess impact and reach of programs using data analytics and share program outcomes with stakeholders, including senior university leaders, policy-makers, and students and families • Support enrolment campaigns using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn • Oversee, actively monitor and evaluate the effective use of budgeted resources to ensure budget use is fully aligned with university’s plans and priorities; support the use of data for evaluation and program • Actively collaborate with the Vice President to establish, strategize on areas of program improvement and determine growth potential for programs

• Founded the Institute with the mission delivering best practices in training in comparative, international, diversity and development education• Direct operations of the Institute, to include policy and plan development, reporting directly to the Dean and to CFO, and led a department of 7 staff • Promoted research in international comparative studies through the delivery of webinars to the global community • Oversaw development of diversity and cultural sensitive training for K-12, higher education and health industry educators, and helped train teachers to incorporate multicultural and international comparative studies in all curricula• Created events to motivate diverse students to attend college• Promoted broad-based input, pursuing college-wide collaborations• Engaged in leadership training and ProD activities under the supervision of Dean for School of Liberal Arts & Education• Guided the College in the assessment of student learning to meet Middle States Accreditation standards• Sourced and secured external partnerships with local/national constituents and with international organizations (e.g. OAS and USAID) • Built partnerships within the College and fostered consensus among faculty and across departments and administrative levels

• Served as Senior Postdoctoral Fellow working under guidance Prof. David Pritchard, the Director of RELATE (Research in Electronic Learning, Assessing & Tutoring Effectively)• Conducted research on CyberTutor (now MasterPhysics), a sophisticated interactive web-based tutor for teachers and students, with a focus on the improvement of learning and pedagogy in interactive environments• Conducted statistical analysis, using Access, SPSS, SQL and UNIX• Assisted with proposal and report writing, funding applications, research design, management and execution
