Tenure Track Nursing Instructor of Maternity for Associate Degree Nursing Students

• Responsible for the staff development and education of registered nurses and ancillary staff on the mother-baby, antepartum, and labor & delivery units. • Develop and update policies/procedures in collaboration with RN staff in accordance with the evidence, The Joint Commission, and New Jersey Department of Health standards of care.• Develop and implement education programs and trainings through online learning system and live educational offering (lectures/conferences, annual skills day)• Coordinator for OB simulation drills on mother/baby and L&D.• Responsible for the orientation management of all new hires (RN’s and ancillary staff) to L&D, mother/baby, and antepartum• Apply for and provide continuing education credits as applicable in accordance with New Jersey State Nursing Association standards.• Assess, develop, and maintain unit based nursing competencies for RN and ancillary staff.• Role in development, modification, and training on electronic medical record. • Coordinator for perinatal bereavement and perinatal palliative programs.• Lead educator for breastfeeding education and competencies for women and children’s division.• Assist with unit based performance improvement initiatives and nursing research (HCAPPS, Press Ganney, customer experience).• Participate in community listservs and events (Central New Jersey Health Consortium, Council of Women and Infant’s Specialty Hospitals).• Monthly staff rotation to mother/baby and L&D units.
