As a senior scientist and quality assurance manager I am responsible for;- day to day running of the stem cell processing laboratory - devising and establishing quality manual, procedures, standards and specifications- making sure that production processes meet international and national standards, legal compliance and customer expectations- ensuring functionality of quality management system- providing training, tools and techniques to enable team members to achieve quality standards

My responsibilities include project conception, management, data analysis and final information dissemination via peer reviewed publications and conference presentations. I am also actively involved in students training and day to day guidance. Grant writing along with budget drafting is also part of my responsibilities.

Research on cartilage regenerative medicine and stem cells.I established a novel system for generation of implant quality cartilage tissue from different cell sources. The work resulted in several new SOPs, conference talks and 8 peer reviewed publications (5 published and 3 under review process).

I worked on translation (Urdu-English) of the data generated in a field research study conducted in collaboration with Ryerson University. The study explored the issue of senior abuse amongst new immigrants. My work helped in finalizing the report. The information generated by the study was also put into a theater play for knowledge dissemination, I led that production from conception to performance. We raised funds which went for transportation for the seniors in the community.

I translate technical and non-technical documents from German - English, German -Urdu and English -Urdu. I have worked on patient information material for hospitals, scientific documents for scientists and on immigration related information for the government of Austria

Research work involved cloning of a gene in an expression vector system and isolation and purification of the resultant protein. The project resulted in development of a new SOP and was helpful in establishing the function of the gene.

Administrative Role: Helped in establishing the lab infrastructure and implementing lab policies. Developed SOPs and led a team of 2 interns and one research officer. Research: Worked on detection of neurotransmitters in club foot specimen, the work resulted in a publication in Journal of bone joint surgery.
