Having completed my academic studies in disability field and several years of experience in the media industry, I provide consultancy on Communication and Accessibility issues, and am co-founder of syNNergy. I design and implement holistic communication plans towards private and public bodies, while my expertise lies in diversity inclusion policies. Having respect for people and inclusion as my goal, I support communication needs and enhance the profile of my clients. I write articles on social issues, in both print and electronic press while I train students in interpreting techniques at the school of the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf.I have worked at SKAI television station for 13 years, presenting the news for the deaf/hard of hearing daily. I have worked as production manager and was in charge of interpreting on the accessible broadcast of the National Confederation of Disabled People for the Hellenic Parliament television channel and 26 regional stations throughout Greece. Since 2008, I have been working for the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf, the National Confederation of Disabled People and the National Institute of the Deaf. As a freelancer Greek sign language interpreter, I have delivered services in various instances such as in television spots/announcements/accessible audiovisual material, in both national and international events (European Parliament, UN, European Commission), as well as in scientific workshops and political speeches. I have, also, worked in special educational settings from 2008 to 2017(EEEEK), training students with severe disabilities (autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, mental disabilities etc).Based on my experience and the knowledge of the community of disabled persons, it has become obvious that there is a gap between Communication and Accessibility. Special education/accessibility issues are not communicated or addressed in an efficient way. I strongly believe that the above gap can and should be met by experts. I have a PhD in Special Education - Accessibility from the University of Athens, having completed my studies in Sociology and a Master of Science in Special Education. I live in Athens, am a mother of two, and I believe we can make the world a better place for coming generations
