Managing a project of frontier technologies transfer to the agriculture industry. These technologies include the internet of things (IoT), drones, distributed ledger technologies (blockchain, …), robotics, and big data technologies. The project involves issuing a compendium about the technologies, preparing courseware, and providing presentations for stakeholders.Responsible for authoring a Compendium of Digital Agriculture Technologies and Their Challengeswith Examples from the Arab Region.Responsible for building a course about digital agriculture and its applications.

I managed the strategic planning and direction of two research teams in my most recent position - field investigation, laboratory evaluation, process modeling, data analysis, systems programming and testing, and reporting. Additionally, I instructed undergraduate and graduate students in several agricultural engineering courses and oversaw master's degree candidates' research projects.Some of my achievements include:• Led two leading-edge water conservation research projects - secured over $1.3M funding from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.• Published numerous research articles in leading, peer-reviewed journals.• Attained US patent for creating a rain gauge with particulates separator and awarded the Silver Medal of Agriculture and Meteorology Inventions from Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.• Honored with Golden Medal of Inventions from the university for innovative design of desert rainfall measuring device.

As a Senior Programmer for the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences, I developed an integrated data management program for the agricultural industry in Saudi Arabia. I monitored trends, collected and analyzed data, and optimized the program performance to drive policy development and boost farming productivity. Also, I presented a comprehensive analysis to senior leadership and business partners. In this role, I implemented leading-edge agricultural technologies in Saudi Arabia — reduced water consumption by 50% and increased vegetable crop yield by 20% across the country.

I joined the Desert Research Center as an Assistant Researcher of water and soil conservation. It was 1996 when I joined the research team, I found the team doing a lot of good research, but they were not using technology-based data extraction and manipulation. The team was working on a national project of soil conservation mitigation, which required massive link with meteorological data, mostly hourly wind speed and wind direction. My colleagues never used database tools before; they used to print the meteorological data and spot the extreme wind speeds manually, then they draw the wind rose by hand too. This work was taking a lot of their valuable time. I was always interested in technology, so I asked my supervisor to digitize the operation; he cautiously agreed. I lead the team to convert all the manual processes to be computerized. We used databases and spreadsheets to manipulate the data and used presentation and photo editing software instead of conventional projector slides and photos. After few years, our department becomes among the first departments to convert its data manipulations to a full-digital model. This conversion increased our productivity to more than 100% and helped to finish our research earlier.* Currently on a non-paid vacation since Feb 2007
