These are aimed at improving clinical outcomes and patient safety by implementing personalised evidence from clinical guidelines, protocols and other sources at the point of care; so improving the consistency and quality of clinical decisions. Deontics solutions can be applied in primary, secondary and tertiary care, and across populations in integrated care settings, and applied to any clinical indication. Deontics solutions are analogous to a clinical ‘Sat-Nav’ using individual patient data to locate a patient on a clinical pathway and provide relevant clinical decision parameters and personalised treatment recommendations at the point of care, for example on a mobile platform.

The Healthy Communities Institute (HCI) mission is to improve the health and environmental sustainability of communities worldwide by providing information systems and related services to cities, counties and regions that improve indicator tracking and best practice sharing. The Healthy Communities Network (HCN©) is a web-based information system used by any stakeholder in a community to increase the transparency and accountability of quality of life issues. Our objective has been to centrally develop and maintain this high quality data and decision support information system, and provide access to the template, with supporting services, to communities at low cost. Our intention is that use of this system will measurably improve quality of life and outcomes for people in cities and communities around the U.S. and internationally, becoming a catalyst for enduring and systemic change.

At IDX, I was responsible for the product management function at the clinical "Carecast" division. I also formed the Informatics function, where I oversaw the creation of the SAGE project (a NIST-funded collaborative project undertaken by a consortium comprising Mayo Clinic, Stanford Medical Informatics, Intermountain Health Care, the University of Nebraska and Apelon Inc.).As Chief Medical Officer for IDX international, member of core sales team (3 people) winning hundreds of millions of dollars of business (largest deals in IDX history).
