As I transition from my impactful role as the Director of High-Quality Curriculum and Instruction at The Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy into becoming Assistant Professor at Catholic University, I bring over a decade of distinguished leadership in shaping educational policies. Collaborating with a dynamic team of researchers and practitioners, I've been instrumental in developing and implementing initiatives that significantly enhance academic outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds. I am also the founder of The Living Water School, a Christian institution grounded in the philosophies of classical and democratic education. My commitment to educational leadership extends beyond the traditional classroom, as seen in publications like LIVING IN THE CONSTELLATION OF THE CANON and THE BLACK INTELLECTUAL TRADITION. Beyond my role as an educational leader, I operate The Blacks in Classics Museum in Old Town Alexandria. My mission is not only to inspire and empower students but also to lead in preserving and promoting the rich legacy of Black intellectualism. As I embark on this new chapter, my experience as an educational leader and a seasoned educator in esteemed institutions like Howard University, St. John's College, the University of Maryland, and Messiah University has fueled my passion for fostering inclusivity through civil discourse that is inspired by the human stories from ancient times to the present. In addition through my work as an educational consultant and speaker for colleges, universities and K12 schools all over the United States, seeking to create a more welcoming environment for diverse populations, I am eager to contribute to an academic community that not only values my educational leadership but also welcomes my passion for individuals to share their human stories and build bridges with one another.
