Dr. NNeka Allen-Harrison, an Oakland native, is a former social service provider and family counselor, a proponent of liberatory pedagogy, empowerment learning theory, authentic leadership, and community empowerment. Allen-Harrison has taught courses and provided doctoral supervision at Mills College (now Mills at Northeastern University). She has mentored, coached, and consulted with leaders, schools, community-based agencies, and parents on authentic leadership, inquiry and action, home and distance education, family-school-community partnerships, microschooling, educational equity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Dr. NNeka co-founded Leaders Innovators & Forward Thinkers of Tomorrow (LIFTT Inc.), a STEM education nonprofit, CEO of Summit Learning Institute, LLC, and has authored and co-authored several books and articles while serving as dissertation chair at Mills College at Northeastern.
