As part of the requirements for graduation I took my summer training for 8 weeks at SABIC Corporate Research & Innovation Center (SABIC-CRI). During which I learnt about the center and the research projects being carried out including water treatment, membrane gas separation and heterogenous catalysis. I also had hands-on experience with the Heterogeneous catalysis group at CRI in preparing, testing and characterizing catalysts. During my training I also had the opportunity to attend several safety courses provided by KAUST safety department in addition to two courses in Aspen Plus by SABIC.

As part of the Student Mentorship Program (SMP), I worked with several researchers on the “Development of Metal-Oxide Zeolite Nanostructures for Hydrogen and Hydrogen Sulfide Detection” project lead by Dr. Zain Yamani. I also gained experience in operating, effectively running and interpreting data from systems such as : In-Situ Raman Spectrometer, Semi-Conductor Device Analyzer and Nano/Micro Particle Analyzer.
