Topics covered during the internship program include intellectual property (IP) protection and IP strategy, due diligence, company formation and development programs, term sheets and deal structuring. Interns are also invited to observe a Brandon BioCatalyst Investment Review Committee (IRC) meeting.

I was among the few selected WEHI staff members to participate in the Innovation Fellowship Program between aMoon and leading Australian research institutes. I learnt about project evaluation and due diligence, intellectual property review and management, market analysis and venture formation. Participated in a pitch competition.

Launched in 2017, the program selects 100 participants annually from across Australia to take part in face-to-face and online training in the various disciplines that contribute to the commercialisation of new medicines. The tacit industry knowledge that the Bridge Program consortium provides makes the program unique in its integration into venture capital and global pharmaceutical networks and its ability to share specific, detailed and practical know-how.
