I am passionate about character development and its importance for leadership, an ethical mindset and meaningful work. I have written numerous journal articles and book chapters across a variety of fields including corporate governance, hospitality work, management and psychology, and have decades of related teaching and mentoring experience. In my research I point to the importance of acknowledging and exploring the anthropological foundations of leadership, management, work and decision making. In my PhD I explored how virtue ethics can contribute to ethical decision making, excellence and fulfillment in work.I am an experienced higher education lecturer and course coordinator, designing and planning curriculum with the Dean of Teaching and Learning and organising large teams of lecturers. I enjoy the administrative aspects of course coordination including facilitating meetings, marking and moderation, monitoring course progression and working with the plagiarism team. As a member of the Sustainability Lecturing team received the Dean's Teaching Excellence Award.As a member of the Management Team in a vocational training college, I managed and improved efficiency and quality throughout the student life cycle. I facilitated the development of compliant policies & procedures, improved contract management, handled student complaints and promoted student well being. During this time the College passed an ASQA desk audit simply based on student satisfaction outcomes.
