About Patrick Coghlan
Born Berkeley California, raised in Adelaide Australia. Walked, ran or climbed many other places...Having worked for the last 15 years as a medical tutor, instructor and doctor, I have settled in the area of Burn Surgery with an emphasis on Rural and remote medicine as my preferred career.I have a strong interest in exploring, developing and nurturing new ideas in healthcare and technology, in particular supporting projects that improve peoples health, well being and quality of life. I have experienced the journey of a CEO in the Healthcare and venture capital sector, presented internationally and worked on pioneering research teams to help develop widely used synthetic skin substitutes among other projects. I am grateful for the opportunity to be involved in these world first surgeries and eagerly embrace opportunities to explore new technologies and support teams with a similar vision.I also have a passion for meditation, medical technology, design, health and lifestyle medicine. While medicine is most definitely a science at its foundation, it is equally an art in its manifold forms... My main passion is adventure travel, wilderness and remote medicine. I also have a strong interest in work/life balance for healthcare professionals and students. I think it is essential that healthcare professionals demonstrate how to look after themselves in a way that is balanced and mature. My goal is to be happy in life and share that happiness meaningfully with those I meet both socially and professionally. Always looking out for opportunities!
