Over a 20 year career, I have developed deep expertise in UX design, research, and testing. My design process starts by understanding the needs of both the business and the user. I have 2 key strengths as a designer: usability skills grounded in human factors, and a computer science background that helps me collaborate with development and test teams to deliver a better solution more quickly, often improving the codebase alongside the design. I have created design systems, trained other designers / researchers, and led small teams. In recent years I have helped develop the growing field of legal design by applying my UX expertise to this complex area, demystifying complex processes, and making legal documents accessible and engaging through clearer text, better information architecture, and visualisation.
