A member of the Independent Assessment Committee (IAC) of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations’ (GAVI) Pneumococcal Advanced Market Commitment (AMC). The IAC is an impartial oversight body responsible for determining whether a candidate vaccine proposed by an AMC registered manufacturer meets the selection criteria in terms of vaccine stereotype, target population/target age group, dosage schedule, route of administration and product formulation. In addition, as part of its monitoring role, the IAC appraises when and if an adjustment of the pre-set long-term price of vaccines is necessary. Finally, the IAC has a dispute resolution function.

In September 2015, the UN Secretary-General launched the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health to help further the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Agenda. The strategy builds on 15 years of progress under the Millennium Development Goals and the Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) movement. A key strategic priority for EWEC is to ensure strong implementation of the SDGs. To this end, the UN Secretary-General appointed the Every Woman Every Child’s Independent Accountability Panel (IAP). The Panel will produce its first report in September 2016, during the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly. The report will provide an independent assessment of progress and challenges to help strengthen the response from the international health community and countries. Affiliated to the Microfinance Team in the framework of the collaborative programme between the University of Madras and French Institute of Pondicherry. The study was entitled “Microfinance and Health Services”. Conducted free health consultations, (physical examinations, counseling, blood tests, diagnosis and prescription), for MSM and transgender (Ali) communities. The resulting research paper was entitled “MSM and HIV/AIDS in South India”.

• As the head of a regional office of this UNICEF, UNHCR and IOM implementing partner, provided technical support to the Regional Department of Education for their policies to reach out to 534 primary and secondary schools with activities on Human Rights and Healthy Lifestyle/HIV/AIDS education. • Raised funds from UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF, UNDP, UNV, USAID, British Embassy in Georgia, Soros Foundation, for the same. • Undertook capacity building for NGOs working in field of Internal Displacement, Human Right, Health (HIV/AIDS), and Youth. • Initiated the NGO House in Kutaisi, the Human Rights education center (for youth 14-17y.o.), and the Imereti Children’s forum (for children 9-14y.o.).
