I am a Public Health professional with a medical background. Having done my post-graduation from IIHMR-Delhi and certified in Health Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Gender & Reproductive health and Maternal health programming issues from the leading International institutes. I was working with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India for more than 8 years (besides my overall more than 13 years of work experience). My experience makes me well versed with the MOHFW policies, programs (NHM etc.) especially communication strategy. Working at MoHFW has given me hands on experience with the communication activities of the world’s biggest public health program – the Routine Immunization Program of India along with being the content writer for blogs, articles and interview features of the Health Ministers. Not only this, I contributed to the new modes of communication i.e. social media and other related digital platforms. Besides communication, documentation and administration are my core skills.I was responsible for the very first set of communication strategy implementation and communication products for COVID-19 by means of not only developing products but also disseminating them to all central ministries and corporate associations viz. FICCI & CII etc. across the country. I have worked for National and International organizations viz. UNAIDS, John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health - Centre for Communication Programs (JHU-CCP), Clinton Foundation, DIFID-MPTAST, India HIV/AIDS Alliance, NACO among others. My work has involved conducting training programs for the ANMs on integration of PPTCT into MCH services, documented the UNAIDS-NACO North East region consultation towards designing of NACP 4, evaluated NGOs for DSACS, analyzed the data of JHU-CCP survey on the usage of various family planning methods in the semi urban areas of Uttar Pradesh; as part of the Urban Health Initiative by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. My initial work experience with the Health Ministry was as a member of the DFID assisted TMSA set up to provide program management support to MoHFW in the context of RCH II. As a part of it I was responsible for supporting a group of states, by way of appraisal of program implementation plans, preparation of quarterly variance analysis reports, supportive supervision visits and provision of technical assistance as and when required.
