Dr. Prashant Pant, is presently Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Botany, Government College, Daman, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Prior to this, I was appointed as Assistant Professor of Botany, M.G.G.A. College, Mahe, UT of Puducherry in January 2018 where I worked till August 2018. Before that, I was teaching at the Department of Botany, Dyal Singh College, the University of Delhi as Assistant Professor of Botany (2013-2018). I have been teaching undergraduate and Postgraduate students for 09 years now. My main areas of teaching and research interest are Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Restoration Ecology, Molecular Ecology, Molecular Biology, Genetics & Genomics. During his Ph.D., I worked towards understanding the Microbial Succession using the Metagenomic approach in a Barren mined-out site undergoing ecological restoration. For this, I deployed many molecular and computational Biology tools and techniques. I have several publications which include Research Articles, Reviews, book chapters, and Books edited and Authored in International Journals and International Publications respectively. I was granted Young Scientist-International Travel Grant (2015) by DST-SERB, Ministry of Science and Technology, GOI, New Delhi for presenting my Ph.D. work in Prague, Czech Republic.Major Skills include Reasearch Analysis, DNA Sequence analysis, Recombination Detection, Mutation Analysis, Biostatistics, Microsoft Office, Molecular Biology, Genomics Tools.
