About Chris Ramey

Hello, my name is Christopher Ramey. I am MCP & ITIL certified (Microsoft Windows 2000 Certified Professional & ITIL Foundation 100) with over 26 years of experience in Information Technology.In my most recent position, I worked as a technical consultant supporting up to three companies as well as traveling to assist at other locations as necessary. I was the sole I.T. representative at all three locations and provided any and all support that was required. I also was involved in various projects such as planning and performing a complete server/SAN overhaul, implemented WSUS updating strategies, and communicated with various vendors to obtain quotes for various company needs.In the position prior to that, I was brought into a situation where the school district went without proper I.T. support for many months. My position is essentially that of the Technology Director including typical Systems Administration responsibilities as well as managerial tasks such as interviewing potential I.T. candidates and managing a budget. I also had 2 Tech Coaches who reported to me for technology issues. I successfully transitioned into this position completing a long list of help desk items and making improvements to the environment as I went. For example, the WSUS and anti-virus systems were not working or up to date; creating an obvious security concern that I was successful in alleviating. In this role, I supported 4 buildings, 2000 users, 400 workstations, and 20 servers (15 virtual, 5 physical).I have also worked for Technicolor helping to support 4 buildings in S.E. Michigan with 600 users, 400 workstations, and 60 servers; as well as working under contract with EDS to migrate all of General Motors Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 client computers to Windows 2000 Professional. I was a member of a team that successfully migrated 45,000 seats for General Motors Corporation.I moved to the Chicago area from Madison Heights, Michigan in 2013 with my wife. I had two positions here before taking some time off to be a stay-at-home father. Unfortunately, that break ended up being longer than initially planned due to COVID and then us moving about an hour away. We are settled in our new location, and I am ready to be a productive company employee once again. I am anxiously pursuing my next position that excites me and drives me to my fullest potential.
