About Public Speaking/Humanitarian/Philanthropy Projects: In 2007, Dr. Mitchell founded The New Reality Foundation as a tax exempt non profit that empowers women and girls to be successful as global leaders. The foundation and Dr. Mitchell have received numerous honors for the high impact programs that help women and girls. Dr. Mitchell received the high honor of the Lizzie Glide Woman of Vision Award in October, 2014 from the Mary Elizabeth Inn, celebrating their centennial anniversary and founded by Lizzie Glide, a turn of the century philanthropist concerned for women, is a “safe house” for courageous women escaping homelessness as they struggle to reset their lives disrupted by domestic violence. Dr. Mitchell has earned critical acclaim for her professional accomplishments, innovative thinking, and service to her community and has received numerous awards and recognitions. In September 2013, she was honored by the Rho Upsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and included among prominent women in justice in honor of Constance Baker Motley, the first African America woman judge appointed to the United States Federal Court. The list of distinguished honorees included Federal Judge Honorable Saundra Brown-Armstrong, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Honorable Gail Brewster Bereola, Alameda County Deputy District Attorney Venus D. Johnson, and Attorney and Social Entrepreneur Dr. Raye Mitchell, as distinguished Women in Justice. In December 2012, the Charles Houston Bar Association honored Dr. Mitchell with the Benjamin Travis Community Service Award and KQED/Wells Fargo Bank Public Media Women’s History Month Local Hero, the Women’s Initiative for Self-Employment’s 2011 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, and the 2011 Jefferson Award for Public Service (the Nobel Prize for Public Service. The mission of Women Lead Forward is to create a national platform that transforms how women and girls of color gain access to equality in engagement as global leaders in general and in the tech and innovation economy in particular.Applying expertise in “building equality in the battle for equality” in technology and leadership, Women Lead Forward launched just weeks ahead of President Obama’s national initiative entitled The #TechHire program. Women Lead Forward is well positioned to contribute solutions and training support to respond to the national mandate to engage and equip a new generation of diverse women leaders with leadership skills and market-ready-skills in tech and tech-related industries. In reality, the true "c-suite" for these millennial women of color is connected to another set of Cs—the ability to be competitive, confident, and competent, and contribute as change leaders and independent entrepreneurs in charge of their own futures. This course delivers on diversity and inclusion strategy and speaks to the needs of women of color who do not seek the traditional corporate c-suite career path.
