Healthcare and IT Industry / Business Strategy ExperiencesFor an International Healthcare think tank in association with one of the world’s largest charitable foundations, I was appointed Head of an independent Digital Health Strategy Council, consisting of national and international experts in Digital Health. This initiative defined a comprehensive Digital Health Strategy and Roadmap for India and the outputs were taken up at many national and international fora.For a $6 billion large province wide government healthcare sector in Spain, I was solely responsible for evaluating, assessing and providing solutions to the Ministry of Health in it’s efforts to maximize value generation from multiple proposed healthcare and technology service initiatives. Confidentiality, secrecy, and operational effectiveness were key features of the exercise. Business process assessments, value chain definition, public versus private healthcare, healthcare performance management and IT return on investments were some critical areas assessed. Presented the results directly to the President of Madrid. For a $5 billion dollar global IT services company, I championed the setting of a global healthcare strategic approach for the company, interacting with the CEO, and the board of directors. Worked directly with the CEO to establish a viable global healthcare strategic approach that was highly appreciated. For a $400 million global pharmaceutical packaging company keen on entering into the retail health and wellness market through innovative use of mobile clinical platforms, I was the lead domain and subject matter expert in uncovering new opportunities and defining associated risks in all aspects of the potential national ‘local market’ business. Directly interacted with the Chairman, Board of Directors and all Senior Management personnel within the organization.For a $100 million investment into one of India’s most prestigious healthcare service providers, I led the consulting effort to totally redesign all aspects of their IT strategy to ensure that they retained their unique culture and customer management processes while implementing an organization wide Enterprise healthcare IT system.
