About René Cintrón, Ph.D.

I am, first and foremost, dad to my amazing three adult daughters. I serve as the Chief Education and Training Officer with Louisiana’s Community & Technical Colleges, a public, multi-institution system serving a diverse student population seeking workforce development training, academic programs of study, and the high school equivalency encompassing enrollment reaching over 145,000 students and over 33,000 graduates, annually. In my role, I provide direct statewide leadership in workforce development, academic affairs, adult education, manufacturing extension, student services, and institutional effectiveness. I have placed focus on accelerating the student experience from pre-application to post-graduation with tools such as data exchange, short-term credentials, compressed programs, prior learning assessments, co-requisite scheduling, and others leading students to achieving their educational goals in a timely manner. I am an Air Force veteran, grew up in the U.S. island of Puerto Rico now living in Greater New Orleans, and hold a Ph.D. in Organization and Management.
