About Dr Rhys Young

I am a Specialist General Practitioner practising in Brisbane. My approach to medicine as non-judgemental, down-to-earth and evidence-based.I have a specialist interest in sexual health and LGBTQ+ health, including gay men’s health and gender affirmation. I am a trained S100 prescriber and offer comprehensive HIV care, including HIV testing, HIV treatment, and prevention with PrEP.I practice an informed consent model when providing care to trans and gender-diverse people. I hope to create a safe and welcoming environment for transgender and non-binary people to access healthcare.Outside of clinical practice, work as a Medical Educator for medical students and GP registrars. I also write a monthly queer-focused health article as Doc Q for QNews Magazine.
