Establishment of New Engineering Institution affiliated to University of Calicut

JOINED AS THE FIRST PRINCIPAL OF THE COLLEGE. I DECIDED TO IMPLEMENT METHODS OF TEACHING, LEARNING, MONITORING AND IMPROVEMENT TECHNIQUES BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE IN GUIDING 17 INSTITUTIONS FOR NAAC ACCREDITATION AND 7INSTITUTIONS FOR NBA ACCREDITATION. THE RESULT IS THAT THIS NEW COLLEGE STARTED IN 2008 WAS RANKED AS NO.1 COLLEGE FOR THE FIRST TWO YEARS AND GOT THIRD POSITION DURING THE YEAR 2011 BY ANNA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY COIMBATORE. THANKS TO MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY AND STAFF OF P.A.COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, POLLACHIMy First Batch Students with whom we started Academics in PA College, have produced 100% Pass. Importantly, 34.5% of the passed students are UNIVERSITY RANK HOLDERS. Put together, this batch has produced 72 University Ranks for during the AY 2012. When every student and their parent of the Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists called me and thanked me, I was so happy and I wish to thank the management of PA College for providing me the opportunity of serving student community.

1. Involved in revamping the existing M. Tech Programme curriculum on “Manufacturing Engineering” and introduced Computer Integrated Design and Manufacturing Programme in the year 2007-08. The revised curriculum takes into consideration feedback from stack holders such as students, industries and other Universities. The major changes include inclusion of relevant practical components, advanced courses, etc. And, involved in discussion and design of UG curriculum in the area of Manufacturing Engineering.2.Taught UG and PG students and guided projects, in addition to administering the department of mechanical engineering as Vice Chairman.3. Heading the University Quality Accreditation Process

Appointed by the Pro-Chancellor of Amrita University as the Chairman, NAAC Committee to prepare and submit report to get accredited by NAAC, Bangalore. Responsibilities include guiding and supporting 15 colleges in four states and successfully obtained “A” grade for the University.

First Appointment as Lecturer in the Department of Production Engineering, Amrita Institute of Technology and Science.

I have Joined the Institution during the academic year 1989-90 as Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. I was teaching Computer Programming in Basic, Fortran77 and office packages including wordstar, lotus123, dbase III Plus, etc. In addition, Heat Power Engineering and Industrial Management are the other to favourite subjects i have taught to Diploma Students during my service with SNGIT (Now it is called SNGPC). I remember, i have produced 100% pass in Industrial Management subject during the year 1993-94.I was made in-charge of the computer centre of the college with a PC, without Hard Disk, having 1MB Ram and two 360 KB floppy drives.It was all fun working with computers using Basic and fortran for student projects. Computer aided gear design using Fortran77 was a good project during the year 1994.

1. Teaching Diploma students courses like Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Engineering Mechanics, production technology, etc. and setting up workshops and Laboratories.2. Installed a Wind Mill in the college premises under the financial support from Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency, during the year 1988. The wind mill was fitted with a reciprocating pump which is used to pump water from a well to fill the supply tank for all laboratories.
