In this newly created position, I am in charge of implementing a more concrete diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy. I will partner with the company’s existing DEI committees to oversee the organization’s ongoing DEI strategy and create programs and strategies in support of the organization’s four DEI pillars: growing a diverse workforce, increasing and enhancing communication and transparency, providing professional development, and growth opportunities and diversifying audiences.

As the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) I work collaboratively with divisions across campus, including the Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Enrollment Management and Student Success, Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness, and Communications and External Relations to implement and communicate best practices related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and implement the College's newly developed Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan. I also serve as part of a system-wide network of CDOs to support SUNY's overall diversity efforts.

The Diversity Collective of FIT is an advisory group, assisting the President and the Affirmative Action Officer in matters concerning discrimination, equal educational access and employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation. The mission of the Collective is to foster a climate of inclusion within the campus community, working to enrich an understanding and respect for each of its members. The Collective encourages all aspects of personal development and growth within this inclusive environment, helping individuals to achieve their potential through diverse relations within the community.

The Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs serves as the chief operations officer for the Division. In this capacity, the Associate Vice President is responsible for the administrative and leadership functions for academic matters relating to budget and fiscal resources, personnel, facilities, academic technology infrastructure, security and emergency management, and health and safety issues in classrooms and laboratories. The Associate Vice President is a member of the Deans Council and serves as liaison for the Division of Academic Affairs with the Divisions of Business and Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, and the General Counsel in matters pertaining to the academic mission of the College.

Online Professor of History and American Government

The chief business officer of the College is responsible for the organization, administration and planning of all business affairs of the College, including but not limited to management oversight of all business and operational areas of the college as well as outside contract compliance such as long-range financial planning and budget development; management of fiscal resources; long-range facilities planning and construction management; asset protection and risk management; auxiliary and contracted services; and student assistance. This position will provide overall supervision to various departments of the College including Maintenance and Plant Operations, Campus Facilities Planning, Purchasing, Public Safety, Accounting, Budget Office, Ciccone Theatre, Child Development Center and Information Technology.

Provided general management, monitoring, oversight and responsibility for Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands facilities, employees, operations and the successful implementation of projects and initiatives is key. Functional oversight of: community/academic counseling; testing; intake assessment; Small Business Development Center; and Public Safety and any other affiliate organizations and departments that occupied the Meadowlands facilities. Created strategies and set goals to increase enrollment and revenue generation. Responsible for financial accountability for budgets, expenses and financial interface, and audits as appropriate. Developed and maintained relationships with the community and create workforce opportunities and other training opportunities for businesses and Bergen residents.

Overall responsibilities included overseeing the Division of Continuing Education, forging partnerships between the College and local businesses and organizations and securing grants for the benefit of the College.

Bergen Community College, a large comprehensive community college located in Northern New Jersey. My duties include supervision of the College’s new satellite location in the Meadowlands, new program development, community relations, oversight of Community/Academic Counseling, Small Business Development Center, and testing and intake assessments. In addition, operational responsibilities will include budgets, lease management, and project oversight for permanent campus development.

Dean of the Business and Technology programs for NYC Metro

Worked with DeVry in opening the first Keller Graduate School of Management in New York City. Directed and managed both graduate and undergraduate programs at the Long Island City Center. Responsible for all aspects of the school’s operations which included attracting, retaining, and motivating qualified Center personnel and managing the profitably of continuous growth of the Center. Promoted and marketed DeVry University organization and its curricula with its educational advantages to current and prospective students, faculty, and interested constituents. Actively participated in community and professional organizations or employer groups in order to create or enhance broader local recognition of the University.

Provided oversight and managed academic programs, including delivery of instruction, hiring, management, assignment, and supervision of faculty. Responsibilities also included management of academic policies and procedures; implementation of new academic programs; compliance with SACS requirements for academic program management and faculty credentials; evaluation of transfer of credit; and satisfactory academic progress for students. Additional duties included budgeting for academic affairs and applicable departments; oversight of library; analysis and improvement of student retention; and interaction with other institutional departments, including Admissions, Student Affairs, Registration, and Financial Aid.
