DLBS is a research and manufacturing division of Dexa Medica. Our activities include drug discovery and development as well as API manufacturing.

This is a basic research organization working on drug discovery using biomolecular pharmacological approach. Of special interest are drugs of natural origins. We find new targets and new molecules for acute and chronic disease prevention and treatment.

Managing innovative product discovery and development from idea to launch, to include regulatory development of pharmaceutical and other health-care products.

Appointed as a Medical Scientist with the following activities:• Strategized with regional and district sales managers to identify customers and develop regional thought leaders for new products. • Assisted the marketing team to develop regional marketing plans and run Regional Advisory Board meetings.• Assisted regional sales team in generating new businesses from targeted customers, KOL, and key managed care accounts.• Assisted the US Clinical Research Group in maintaining principal clinical investigators.• Developed pharmacoeconomic models of products for managed care customers• Trained and coached pharmaceutical sales consultants on drug and medical knowledge.Achievements:• Succesfully launched Avandia, Coreg, ReQuip and relaunched of Augmentin BID and new indications for Paxil in Northern California, as a part of the sales development teams. • Recruited a number of regional key opinion leaders as national speakers and product champions/advocates and new clinical investigators for 6 new drugs in development.

Research projects:• Molecular pharmacology studies on how prostaglandins E2 (PGE2) and A series transcriptionally regulate normal and cancer cell growth via signal transduction of genes coding for proteins involved in the PGE2 synthesis and metabolism COX-2/cPLA2, and low density lipoprotein receptor and apoptosis in cancer cells.• Regulation of growth gene expression by mechanical vibration simulated in spaceshuttle mission.Achievements:• Published several papers on the subject of regulation of cox-2 in prostate cancer in prestigious journals to include the FASEB Journal, the British Journal of Cancer, and Carcinogenesis.• Participated in the NASA-funded research granted to principal investigator leading to publication of 3 papers related to the effect of space shuttle launch (STS-76) on growth gene expression in bone cells.
