The Chief Scaling Officer (CSO) is a member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for accelerating scaling efforts; impact planning, market scoping, product deployment and growth that will expand BOMA's graduation model to multiple audiences across multiple countries in Africa. The CSO provides strategic leadership to New Business Development, Partnership Development, Technical Assistance, New Market Entry and Government Adoption and Advocacy. In addition, this role contributes to strategic plan and positions BOMA for successful growth. As part of this role, the CSO manages senior staff across multiple countries.

As a member of the Executive Team, I work closely with the CEO to implement BOMA’s global strategy around designing, adapting and implementing the Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) program primarily in Kenya and throughout Africa as requested, through Strategic Partnerships and Government Adoption. I proactively seek out new opportunities for new business development, work with the team to innovate and adapt REAP to new contexts, and capture key learnings to continually drive impact higher, drive costs lower, and sustain BOMA’s reputation as a Leading Graduation, Economic Inclusion and Resilience Impact Organization. I act as the primary representative for BOMA in Kenya and take the lead on building new relationships and partnerships with organizations and Governments in Kenya. l also set the tone for BOMA’s organizational culture in Kenya and build a cadre of future leaders. Lastly I also serve as Secretary to the Board in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities:-- Oversee implementation of multiple donor portfolios including multilateral donors such as USAID. - In-charge of providing people centered transformational leadership alongside key deliverables of quality delivery within programs, efficient management of program resources and pursuit of new business opportunities for BOMA Project - Serve on BOMA Kenya Board as the Board Secretary. Achievements:-> Streamlined operations in multiple donor programs to deliver within the operational plan and within budgeted resources> Developed and implemented efficiency and effectiveness of program staff delivering program outputs which has increased organizational productivity. > Build an inspired and cohesive team that has supported quick turnaround of programs delivery. > Spearheaded business development at BOMA Project having lead the team in new business pursuit with a couple of new opportunities identified

Program Manager - USAID FTF Kenya Livestock Market Systems Activity (KLMS) Key Responsibilities:-- Lead the implementation of the REAP model across the five counties- Coordinate the development, implementation and reporting on the program- Spearhead program learning, innovation and practice around Market System Development and Resilience- Ensure sound financial management, quality reporting and delivery of results in line with the SOP’s and program objectives- Drive partnerships and ensure good relations with other program partners; Mercy Corps, ACDI/VOCA and Smart Regional ConsultantsAchievements:-> Established well laid out program management tools including workplans, budget, M&E plans> Excellent coordination with consortium partners> Sound management of program resources> Well-coordinated staff and strong team work with healthy working environment> High quality and timely reports monthly and quarterly> Well integrated learning agenda, collaboration, adaptation, sequencing and layering with other partners

Key Responsibilities:-- Lead the Livestock Health and Production portfolio for K-SALES- Provide technical guidance on the implementation of the livestock production sub-awards across six project targeted counties- Lead the establishment, training and growth of Farmer Field Schools (FFS), strengthening their organizational capacity and establishing business and financial linkages for improved productivity and market competitiveness.Achievements:-> Improved production practices among over 70,000 farmers equipped with better skills, modern on-farm infrastructure, linkage and access to business and financial service providers> Increased livestock throughput to the markets through better body condition score, improved health and established enterprises along the livestock value chain> Reduced vulnerability to drought through established fodder banks, pasture management and range rehabilitation and management practices> Timely delivery of project results including high quality reports - both technical and financial> Effective partnership management and coordination > Knowledge sharing and learning on matters livestock across the organization

A senior management role responsible for overall leadership, management and coordination of the programme. Key Responsibilities:-- Steer the implementation of the regional FADRR strategic plan, annual business plans and operating standards in line with the organizational strategy - Provide leadership, administration and technical oversight on the management of projects within FADRR’s portfolio- Responsible for programme performance assessment and realization of monthly and quarterly targets as set out in the KPI’s.Achievements:-> Assembled a highly skilled, motivated and inspired team spread across the ASAL counties to spearhead the delivery of projects in the program portfolio> Steered the successful delivery of multiple donor projects including those under Result Based Framework, effectively benefiting over 300,000 pastoralists and communities spread in Northern and South Eastern Kenya as well as parts of Ethiopia and Tanzania.> Built the programme work in livelihoods, markets development, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, rural water and sanitation as well as peace building and conflict management. > Brought on-board new partners and funders to the program such as Land O’ Lakes, GDS, Heifer International, CARE Kenya, Christian Aid, Kenya Markets Trust among others effectively broadening the program and organizational profile as well as building the program funding bottom line> Undertook regional studies on pastoral livelihoods, livestock production, climate change, water and food security to inform policy and practice in these interconnected fields in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia> Contributed to pro-pastoralists policy formulation; the community land bill (now act), trans-boundary animal mobility bill (EAC), climate change act, formulation of the INDC’s as well as part of the national delegates to COP21 that came up with the Paris Agreement.

The position provides leadership and direction to Practical Action East Africa programmes within the cluster and ensures continuous development and implementation of programs and projects, manage the strategic development, ensure smooth running of day-to-day operations of the Area office, and supervise the team involved in implementing, supporting and reporting Area projects.

Project Officer – Animal Health and Livestock Production: FADRR. Key Responsibilities:-- Developing and implementing of operational plans; work plans, budgets, training manuals for animal health and production projects in Turkana and Mandera- Technical supervision of animal health and production interventions including Pastoral Field Schools (PFS), Village Land Use Planning Committees (VLUPC’s), Village Community Banks (VICOBA), vaccinations, livestock feeding and pasture management, animal breeding and rangeland management among others- Community engagement and participation in project activities- Budget management and financial reporting for the livestock projects- Developing lessons from field experiences; success stories, stories of change- Preparation of comprehensive, accurate and timely project reports
