Post Doc Research AssociateThe University Of Edinburgh Aug 2023 - PresentUnited KingdomI am designing adsorption rigs and carrying out extensive measurement and data analysis for the in-depth characterisation of materials that will enable (a) enhanced refrigeration efficiency (stage 1 of my programme) and (b) improved hydrogen storage (stage 2), thus making a critical contribution to the target of net zero emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. Currently, the UK's cooling sector alone contributes 14% of the country's electricity consumption and emits 10% of its greenhouse gases. Projections indicate a three-fold increase in global electricity demand for space cooling by 2050, making cooling technology a key enabler of the net zero target. -
