Joseph was a full professor of Philosophy at Penn State. He directed the Advanced Studies in Phenomenology program. I contacted him curious about their summer program. He asked me to send him my first doctoral dissertation--a book unfolding the phenomenological foundation of Mind which was an interdisciplinary work, integrating philosophy, art, spirituality, and psychology. Joseph later organized a doctoral program at Penn State grounded on this interdisciplinary approach. We continued our friendship for many years as he continued his plentiful writing projects in philosophy and interdisciplinary works. One of the kindest men I've known, quick to laugh and reveal his vivid sense of humor and warmth. With Fond Memories and Gratitude for Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka, Phenomenologist and founder of The World Phenomenology Institute, for her mentorship and support for my passionate adventures through several interdisciplinary fields.
