The primary role of the Instructional Facilitator for Literacy is to increase student achievement in literacy. Oversees curriculum development and instructional quality for Literacy and Language Arts. Oversees curriculum policies and assists in instructional development. Oversees development of curriculum and instructional programs. Demonstrates knowledge of educational pedagogy as applied to curriculum for grades K-12. Meets with supervisor and district representatives to determine educational goals. Serves as liaison between the District and Board of Education, Colorado Department of Education, and community.  Recommends methods for instructional improvements. Articulates curriculum objectives to building principals. Communicates and monitors implementation strategies and directives. Coordinates staff development workshops and seminars. Collects, coordinates, and analyzes student achievement data. Supports teachers in using standards-based instructional and assessment practices to accelerate learning. Provides follow-up trainings regarding program implementations. Supports teachers in non-English Language Arts content areas to promote disciplinary literacy. Supports creation of new courses and evaluating existing courses and program requirements. Coordinates and leads work of teams, committees, and work groups. Promotes awareness and visibility of literacy-related initiatives. Generates relevant reports and documentation.Writes funding proposals as needed.
