The starting point for Dr. Phillips' motivational speaking workshops was her desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals. She recognized that there were no other physicians with her unique talents providing these services to companies, and so she found her niche. Over the past 18 years, she has become a highly experienced and dedicated physician with authoritative proficiency in healthcare management and organizational administration. She is an industry leader and subject matter expert in occupational health and wellness. She is a Board Certified Occupational Medicine physician and recent breast cancer survivor. Her new found patient-physician perspective, coupled with her advocacy for preventative care, has made her a stronger advocate for better health awareness, and more aware of the need for a cure and the dire need for health and wellness programs for physician leaders. After a partial mastectomy, a lymph node dissection, 15 rounds of chemotherapy and 33 rounds of radiation, she is left with clinically disabling lymphedema of her right arm /hand and can no longer perform hands-on treatment of her patients. She now shares her story, her voice, her life, and her victory as an awe-inspiring motivational speaker and voice-over artist. Her remarkable story of pain, loss and change has inspired tens of thousands of people across the country.

Diligently serve as an advisor and mentor to students, resident physicians, and nurses on a myriad of research projects. Provide professional development advice to residents interested in careers in medical management and offer personal strategies to create an advantageous work/life balance.

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to bring my significant talents to the support of SGK's Health Equity initiative, and that I will have the benefit of sharing my experience as Komen aims to achieve their bold goal to reduce overall breast cancer deaths by 50% by 2026 in the U.S. In this role, I will transition from the National 3-Day spokesperson to the first African-American Ambassador for Susan G. Komen’s national African-American Health Equity Initiative. This $27 million Initiative is a collaborative effort with health, civic and faith leaders in key U.S. cities to close the disparities gap in outcomes for African-American women, who are about 40 percent more likely to die of breast cancer than Caucasian women. I will continue to share my powerful personal story of my journey from physician, to breast cancer patient, to breast cancer thriver. Each day, I work to address the drivers of disparities in breast cancer care, and ensure that access to quality breast cancer care and treatment is available for everyone. I engages with national and local health, business, civic and patient advocacy leaders to advise Komen's team on best practices for patient and clinical engagement.

DivaMD Designs was born out of tragedy.Dr. Sheri is a breast cancer survivor who was afflicted with lymphedema as a complication of her surgery and radiation. As if breast cancer wasn't life altering enough, the lymphedema caused her to be disabled from the clinical practice of her career as a board certified occupational medicine physician. Her recommended treatment option, a compression glove and sleeve, have become iconic. Forced to be reminded of her disease every time she dons her compression garments, Dr. Sheri decided if she had to wear it every day she might as well bling it out, raise awareness and provide hope, and express her unique sense of style.Her designer garments quickly became a fashion statement and women all over the country wanted to be similarly styled.Her arm sleeves are perfect for all sports. Oversee and direct the student health and clinical operations department of one of the leading colleges and training institutions in Illinois. Lead a team of healthcare professionals (primary care physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, etc.) responsible for promoting wellness across the student body. Develop, review, and update division-wide policies and procedures to ensure accountability and continuous improvement. Direct overall administration of the clinic and clinical laboratory, including personnel recruitment, employment, and training.Ensure all lab technicians and employees meet the highest level of testing and performance standards. Recommend remediation courses when necessary. Review organizational guidelines governing the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing phases to ensure procedural compliance.Ensure onsite compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) regulations. Verify test procedures performed with precision and accuracy.Establish quality control standards and quality assessment programs on laboratory service levels. Identify process failures and inefficiencies to drive change. Retained by the company to serve in an advisory capacity sharing best practices in health and personal care, providing local communities with access to high-quality and affordable medical attention. Offer strategic reviews to ensure organization compliance to top industry standards.Consult with senior medical staff to address complex medical problems, complications, and emergencies confronted by patients.Review and approve service protocols developed by Take Care Health to be implemented in retail centers nationwide.Supervise a staff of four nurse practitioners responsible for delivering health care services to patients with common family illnesses.

Susan G. Komen 3-DAY; Serves as the National Spokesperson for the 3 Day for the Cure. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested nearly $1.5 billion since inception in 1982. As the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, the organization and its constituents are working to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. It has become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Conduct national and local media interviews via phone and in-person.Maintain a high level of visibility with walkers along the walking route, in camp, and at opening and closing ceremonies.Interact with walkers and provide feedback to 3-Day event producers representing the walker viewpoint and experience.Speak about breast cancer and the 3-Day experience at opening and closing ceremonies and in camp each evening through both formal presentation and informal interaction and as emcee of the camp show.Be on-call and serve as the voice of the 3-Day.

Advocate Health Care's network is comprised of 10 hospitals (including 2 children's hospitals), 80 outpatient care and healthcare diagnostic facilities, graduate medical education, multiple allied health programs, and state-of-the-art health & fitness resources. Specialize in disability management, medical surveillance, injury care, fitness for duty & return to work exams, travel clinics, and executive physical programs. Liaise with clients and patients on a regular basis, visiting hospital departments to understand current states.
