His professional experience also encompasses leadership management, managing performance concerns, program development, organizational restructuring, operations management, quality assurance, compliance, human resource management, and negotiations and conflict resolution.Over the course of his career, Dr. Mitchell has used multilevel theoretical and common-sense practices to create a climate of inclusion in the workplace. He has worked with employees, employers, youth, families, adults with disabilities, and adolescents referred by the Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Probation. He has also worked with and mentored a multicultural, diverse student population, including AB540 (California Nonresident Tuition Exemption), Extended Opportunities Programs and Services (EOP&S), LGBT, and first-generation immigrants. He has leveraged that experience and knowledge in managing the many facets of diversity in organizations and the resulting implications to organizational behavior. As a business leader and consultant, Dr. Mitchell has dedicated his attention to assisting organizations in developing a culture of participation that enables leaders to create a healthy response to organizational change. His approach focuses on the individual’s experience in the change initiative, since it is individual engagement that ensures that the change process is facilitated successfully and achieves the best possible results. In other words, Dr. Mitchell assists leaders in effectively introducing a change initiative and engaging employees in the change process, increasing the likelihood that the change will be supported, implemented, and, therefore, stick.
