Dr Shyamkishore is the first Cardiologist of the state of Manipur with DM from AIIMS and FRCP from London and MRCP from the UK. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the field of cardiology in both Imaging and Interventional Cardiology. After nearly 16 years of service in the British National Health Service serving as a Consultant Cardiologist and Head of Clinical Governance at King George Hospital London he returned back to Manipur to start up SKY Hospital and serve his people. Towards this end and with the help and support of the public and well wishers he started the first full fledged heart hospital of Manipur at SKY Hospital starting Open Heart Surgery and Interventional Cardiology. Dr Shyamkishore also setup Manipur Heart Foundation (MHF) to help raise awareness on heart disease and help poor patients towards their treatment. Till date MHF and SKY Hospital have seen 9976 patients for free and given 2462 Echocardiography and 200+ surgeries/interventions for free or subsidised rates. In 2019 Manipur Heart Foundation tied up with Healing Little Hearts from the UK to conduct free heart surgeries for children at SKY Hospital.
