My core responsibilities included monitoring and maintaining laboratory animals' feeding, breeding, and welfare aspects, while adhering to the 3Rs principle.My noteworthy achievement was the establishment of a fundamental molecular genetic lab in the Animal House facility with financial aid from the University. which helped the genetic monitoring of different species of Lab animals, helping advance research. Also could launch a transgenic animal facility in the university for the first time, raising research to international standards.For the First time, In the University, I initiated hands-on workshops on laboratory animal sciences, enabling the researchers(Both in and Out of the University) to upgrade their skills in lab animal handling. I could also start a new course on Laboratory Animal Science to educate researchers on conducting experiments with laboratory animals.As a passionate researcher, I designed and conducted animal experimentation for numerous researchers and taught laboratory animal science courses to graduate and doctoral research scholars. My skills and expertise enabled me to conduct a variety of animal surgeries, including Laparotomy, Ovariectomy, Tendon Replacements, Calvarial Defects, and Animal Toxicity studies.During this period, I could collaborate with different research projects, providing multi-disciplinary research experience.My efforts led to the certification of CCLAS from FELASA, and I was honored to serve as the Member Secretary of the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, where I played a crucial role in ensuring the ethical and humane treatment of laboratory animals.
