Have been pioneering the application of Computer Simulation Technology in the Indian industry since 25 years. Has assisted several industries from different verticals to successfully implement computer simulation technologies including CAE/ FEM/ CFD/ MBD/ electro-magnetics/ materials modeling/ damage modeling / and multi-physics applications.Shamasundar has created a team of engineers in ProSIM, (www.pro-sim.com0 and developed mechanisms for delivery of large and complex projects. Currently ProSIM is focusing on energy, defence, general engineering sectors and in casting companies.Significant contributions to the nuclear power sector by developing methods for seismic evaluation of various systems and components in nuclear power applications, in R&D of nuclear reactor related technologies.Contributions to the thermal power plants in remaining life assessment and extension, (RLA/RLE), structural integrity assessment, Fitness for Service (FFS).In wind turbines design and development of gear box and transmission systems, tower structures, nascelle, as per codes.Has contributed significantly to Indian Defense R&D, indigenisation programs including different types of missile launcher and missile system studies, avionic systems, battle tanks, armor systems, fighter aircraft etc. Has researched collaboratively with many defence research (DRDO) laboratories, developed methodologies for remaining life assessment and extension (RLA/RLE), structural integrity assessment. Has contributed to the optimisation of systems and components (weight reduction, performance enhancement).Has developed methodologies and procedures of managing collaborative projects involving multiple parties spanning across continents.
