I was responsible for development of state of the art real time cascaded face detection, face tracking, feature point detection, emotion classifiers, demographic algorithms for ethnicity, age and gender classification, in real worldenvironments.

I designed and architected several image processing and computer vision algorithms for the BMW ICam computer vision platform. Custom algorithms for weather detection and scene understanding (fog, raining, horizon detection) were built for this platform. Several of the algorithms were subsequently patented. I also worked on the calibration of the cameras using road lane markings to auto calibrate over time and avoid systematic errors with to cameras moving due to vibrations.

Research and development of image processing and computer vision algorithms for digital cameras and mobile phones. I worked on background segmentation algorithms for a 360 degree video conferencing application. R&D for this project included image stitching, image projections for heavily distorted lens and fish-eye lens.
