It’s all about healthy organizations and healthy individuals. I help organizations identify roadblocks to their effectiveness and I intervene to neutralize restraints and free the organization's creative and constructive resources. I help create a culture of openness, trust, creativity and engagement where people listen to each other, communicate clearly, avoid misunderstandings, and resolve conflicts constructively while getting the job done. For individuals, strong relationships outside the office environment are even more important to achieving a happy, healthy, successful life. There is a growing appreciation that the overall health or “wellness” of the individual also plays an important role in the organization's success. I believe the most important way for a person to have a positive impact on his or her life is to become more conscious about what they eat. My book, Nutritional Intelligence: Eating for Life on the 80/20 Plan is my answer to this challenge. Taking action here can have profound effects for individuals and the organizations where they work. Currently I am the Chair of four Key Executive Groups for TEC (The Executive Committee/Vistage), an organization devoted to creating exceptional leaders. I facilitate a conversation amongst a group of senior executives from diverse organizations focusing on how they might increase their effectiveness across a range of challenges and opportunities. The group provides a “safe harbour” for members to talk about what’s really on their minds.
