About Dr. Steven Bonner
Bottom line, I am my best when helping others live full and meaningful lives. I am passionate about coaching leaders to invest in themselves, personally, relationally, and vocationally. I am a firm believer that the most selfless thing one can do for others, is take care of themselves. When we do, we are better positioned to serve others, at home and at work. This foundation is theoretically informed by Family Systems Theory, where differentiation of self is important for leading a healthy life.My work as an executive coach is informed by my eclectic background, which started as a Chinook Flight Engineer in the U.S. Army. There I learned the basic tenets of leadership, sacrifice, and service which became the grist for my work in sales, ministry, academics, and now coaching. Over the years I have: Conducted, presented, and published research on psycho-social development (nationally & internationally); Served as President of a national non-profit & increased membership by 26%; As a department chair and associate dean, I increased department retention by 22% & increased number of majors by 40% over 4 years, wrote and secured 2 significant grants that led to the development of new programs.Fundamentally, if a leader is not well differentiated their ability to lead will be diminished. My practice utilizes my own E.D.G.E. framework, grounded in systems theory, that empowers leaders to excel by leveraging differentiated leadership to drive efficiency. Here is what some of my recent clients have said about our work:"Dr. Steven has been such a resourceful coach for me and has helped me navigate through several obstacles. I highly recommend Dr. Steven, he will not disappoint."“If you are someone who is involved in a system of people I highly recommend you seekcoaching. Think about all the great athletes, they all have coaches. Good coaches help createcapacity in the coachee, and that’s what Dr. Bonner has done for me.”“Seeking out an Executive Coach has been one of the best decisions of my life. The distance Ihave come in 3 months would have taken me years - if not a lifetime - without Dr. Bonner.”CONTACT INFO:steve@stevebonnercoaching.comhttps://calendly.com/stevebonnercoaching/connection-call

Associate Dean, Department Chair, Professor Of Christian Ministry
Assistant Dean, Department Chair, Associate Professor Of Christian Ministry
I was hired into this position primarily for two reasons: my research background provides me unique insights into the current realities facing incoming students and to implement change in a long established system. My work here is multifaceted. As an administrator, I take care of all the managerial functions expected to chair a department. All of these activities are pretty straightforward and come with the position. In addition to these, I continue to teach, recruit students, and provide systemic change. Over the years, my training and experience have developed in me the ability to pick up on and pay attention to how systems of people develop and interact. That is, I'm really good at seeing how people relate to each other and why. Once these systems are identified, I develop strategies for positive change that impact the entire network of systems that in turn impact the entire institution. So, I see myself as more than an Assistant Dean or department Chair. I am creating systemic synergy across the entire system. This requires forging new relationships/partnerships across [and outside] the institution, exploring possibilities that have never been considered, and utilizing/acting upon real research that provides insights into why people [of all ages] do what they do.
