A Dentist turned Social entrepreneur with a decade of experience in various clinical and non-clinical roles.I am currently at the forefront of leading SocioDent, an early-stage medtech startup focused on dental innovations. At SocioDent, we are working on redefining oral healthcare of dependent and disadvantaged individuals through our product and service innovation. We are currently developing an Assistive Oral Care Device, a patented mouthpiece-based oral hygiene device for bedridden elderly and other dependent individuals. Previously, I was a BIRAC BIG Grantee and Social Innovator in the Health Innovation space at KIIT Technology Business Incubator, Bhubaneswar. My career shift from conventional dental practice happened in 2016 when I was part of a prestigious rural fellowship called the SBI Youth for India Fellowship, where I partnered with Gram Vikas, a renowned NGO with its headquarters in Odisha. During that 13-month program, I worked in the remote parts of Kalahandi, Odisha, on a School Health Project among children from tribal and marginalized communities. This experience created a paradigm shift in my professional pathway, and my outlook towards life has changed ever since. Otherwise, I am keenly interested in Dental Public Health, Public Health Policy, and Social entrepreneurship. My long-term vision includes creating a social startup for improving dental health inequity among the vulnerable population.
