Odisha, India

 Worked on a school health project to 'Establish Health Promoting Schools (HPS)' in three tribal residential schools in Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi district in Odisha. Created and nurtured School Health Committees (SHCs). SHCs were involved in Peer Health awareness and peer monitoring of health and hygiene Compiled an Activity based Guide for Health Promoting Rural Schools. Facilitated community Health awareness campaigns in the form of rallies, street plays in the local market and villages. Conducted Focused Group Discussions with students and villagers on various key health topics.Gram Vikas is an internationally renowned NGO working in different states across India and a few countries in Africa. They started working in remote districts of Odisha as early as 1979. Their flagship MANTRA program is a socially sustainable model of Water and Sanitation. They also have been working in education, rural livelihood for the past many years. Gram Vikas was ranked 23rd among the top 500 NGOs of the world, published by NGO Advisor - a Geneva-based independent media organization.

 Performed General Dental procedures, assisted minor surgical and other specialist procedures, provided anti-tobacco counseling, Managed patient data sheets, appointments and referrals on HMS. Nominated by the Clinical Head as Clinic In charge for the ‘We Care’ program which was a unique initiative by the hospital management to provide personalized care to the patients.  Provided Health talks on ‘Oral Health and wellbeing’ in several Dental screening camps organized at educational institutions, corporate companies etc…

 Attended rotary clinical postings in 9 specialty departments. Managed the outpatient departments, patient datasheets, and assisted post graduate dental surgeons.  Presented seminars, conducted surveys and did basic research work on ‘Tobacco and its impact on Gum Diseases’ under the guidance of professors in the respective departments. Attended several dental camps organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry in villages, schools and institutes for special children.
